A delegation of 300 rabbis visited the opulent structure last week to see how close It was to the Jewish cemetery on the southern flank of the Mount of Olives. The rabbis were satisfied, a spokesman for the hotel said, that the 10 yards separating one edge of hotel property from the southern wall of the cemetery were enough to remove any restrictions on observant Jews entering the property.

Jewish religious law prohibits living within the walls of a burial ground. Ninety per cent of the hotel's stock was owned by the Jordanian Government. Before the fighting in June the hotel was managed by the International Hotel Corporation, which is owned by Pan American World Airways, Inc. The hotel is now held by the Israeli Government and administered by what is euphemistically known as the Custodian of Abandoned Property. Dr.

Hans Falck Will Take Post At Maryland U. Dr. Hans S. Falck, professor of Washington University's George Warren Brown School of Social Work, will resign his post at the end of the year to join the faculty of the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He will assume the position of professor in the Department of Community Organization and Group Work.

Dr. Falck, who came to St Loute In September of 1961, was fornftrly at the University of Buffalo. He has served here in many community activities and is a member of the Board of Trustees of The St Louis Jewish Light the HUM Foundation and the Girl Scouts Council. He is president of the St Louis Chapter, National Assn. of Social Workers.

In an interview, Dr. Falck declared that the future of Jewish social welfare lies in increased efforts along two major lines: 1. More adequate planning within the Jewish community on a year around basis in addition to the once-a-year concentrated fund drive. 2. Aggressive leadership from the Jewish community in relation to general community affairs, particularly in fair housing, civil rights, social legislation and race relations.

"The Jewish community must learn to act rather than react," stated Dr. Falck. He said that instead of worrying about anti-Semitism the community must develop strong efforts at translating Jewish values into relevance for general community life. to join with them in SOLEMN TRADITIONAL JEWISH HIGH HOLY DAY SERVICES at the Beautiful Air Conditioned JEWISH WAR VETERANS MEMORIAL CENTRE 7091 OLIVE STREET ROAD TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE AT THE MEMORIAL CENTRE Monday thru Friday 1:30 to 5:30 p. m.
