Simon, a general practitioner, died Tuesday (Sept. 12, 1995) at Jewish Hospital of cancer of the esophagus. He was 64. Dr. Simon grew up in University City and attended Sol-dan High School.

He earned his medical degree at St Louis University Medical School and completed his residency at Jewish Hospital. Dr. Simon served as a captain in the Army at Neubrucke, West Germany, from 1958 to 1961. He then practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Lincoln, until 1979.
